Elmquist pleads guilty to child-pornography charge - Triangle Business Journal:: "A former North Kansas City company CEO and director of RadioShack Corp. pleaded guilty to attempting to possess child pornography.
Ronald Elmquist, 63, pleaded guilty Friday in federal court in Kansas City to a charge of trying to obtain illegal pornographic images on a laptop issued to him by QualServ Corp., a North Kansas City stainless steel fabricator that Elmquist used to lead.
Elmquist also resigned from the RadioShack board soon after Clay County prosecutors charged him with possession of child pornography in 2006.
The case was transferred to federal court, where Elmquist decided to plead guilty."

Suspects sought in Fairfield robberies - ContraCostaTimes.com: "Fairfield police are looking for suspects involved in two separate armed robberies Thursday night.
Both robberies occurred on North Texas Street, but it is not known if the crimes are related.

The first occurred around 8 p.m. at Radio Shack, when a suspect ordered an employee to give him the money from the cash register and displayed a handgun concealed in his waistband. He took cash and fled on foot, according to police.He is described as a black male adult, 30-40 years old, 6-feet-tall with a thin build and gray facial hair. He wore a gray- and navy-colored shirt with blue jeans and a brown hat, according to police."

A 12-foot pet Burmese python broke out of an aquarium and strangled a 2-year-old girl in her bedroom Wednesday at a central Florida home, authorities said.

Radio Shack Employee Sentenced for Punching Customer

puncherknol Eau Claire (WQOW) - An Eau Claire store employee is sentenced for punching a customer.

Police say the customer was trying to return an item at Radio Shack, but employee James Knol wouldn't allow the item to be returned. When the customer asked to see a manager, witnesses say Knol began punching the man.

Knol pleaded guilty to battery, and was ordered to serve either five days in jail or do community service.

An employee at an Eau Claire retail store will spend five days in jail or perform 40 hours of community service for hitting a customer six times in the head with a closed fist.

James E. Knol, 52, 910 Richard Drive, pleaded guilty Monday in Eau Claire County Court to a misdemeanor count of battery. A misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct was dismissed.

Knol also was fined $80.

According to the criminal complaint:

Police were called to Radio Shack, 1009 W. Clairemont Ave., on April 26 on a report of a battery.

A man told police he had bought an item at Radio Shack a week or two earlier while Knol was working. He said Knol was rude to him when he made the purchase.

The man went to the store April 26 to return the item. Knol was rude to him again and wouldn't allow him to return the item. When the man asked to speak to a supervisor, Knol told him to leave the store.

Knol followed the man outside the store, where Knol hit him. The man had a cut and swelling on his forehead."
